It’s a cool rainy day here in the Midwest. I’ve watched some football, am looking forward to watching some baseball later tonight, and I’m making some warm and comforting soup for dinner. I’m in the mood for broccoli-cheese soup and I think I’ll make chicken noodle too, which is my hubby’s favorite. Hoping the broccoli cheese is as good as Panera’s. Or close anyway.
If you click over to my Food page, you’ll find my recipe for a yummy Paula Deen chicken noodle soup, made with wide egg noodles, half-and-half and a little cooking sherry. It doesn’t taste (or look) like it’s related to that canned stuff. I’ve also shared the recipe for a creamy broccoli-cheese soup from thecomfortofcooking.com. It’s a little labor intensive, but boy it’s good stuff. These two soups along with some hot, buttery, mini-corn muffins will just hit the spot as the rain falls outside.
Enjoy what’s left of your day, and I hope you get a chance to try one – or both – of these soup recipes. I suddenly want to go make some pumpkin muffins. Wish you could join me at the table.
